The rail planning team within the METRONET Office draws from the Public Transport Authority’s (PTA) Infrastructure, Planning and Land Services
This is to make sure that new stations, lines and extensions integrate
with the broader Transperth network, as well as draw from significant knowledge
and studies conducted by the PTA which aim to move people where they want to
go, as effectively as possible.
One of these is the PTA’s Station Access Strategy approach which
will help inform how METRONET projects can integrate with the community and
what is needed to encourage people to connect to future stations by walking,
cycling, bus, drop off and finally, driving and parking.
Rail infrastructure projects will mostly be delivered by the PTA’s
Major Projects Unit.
