Successful community information sessions

During July and August, the project team was out in the community hosting drop-in sessions to answer your questions about the Thornlie-Cockburn Link and Yanchep Rail Extension.

Over three sessions we spoke with 270 people for the Thornlie-Cockburn Link, and 240 people at the two Yanchep Rail Extension events.

The community living near the Thornlie-Cockburn Link were keen to find out more about how noise and vibration issues were going to be managed as well as being very interested in how the stations would look and function.

Many people were also looking forward to the new stations being walking distance to their homes.  Project team members were on hand to answer their questions and assure the community that noise and vibration would not increase as a result of this project.

Residents living in the northern corridor were very supportive of the new rail extension to Yanchep and keen to for the project to start. They were also interested in finding out exactly where the stations would be located as currently there is minimal infrastructure in the area.

Following on from the sessions, numerous feedback forms were received with a range of queries from the community.

As the projects progress more community drop-in sessions will be held to ensure the community is kept up to date with what is planned.
