Community to inform final design for public space

  • 19 July 2022

We’re building Perth’s first major elevated rail and creating great community space as part of the METRONET Victoria Park-Canning Level Crossing Removal Project.

And we’re seeking your feedback on the look, feel and function of the public space underneath the rail and stations until 31 August, before design concepts are finalised.

Elevating the rail will reduce traffic congestion, improve pedestrian and traffic safety, create new gathering and play spaces and bring communities on either side of the rail line together.

Your concepts and ideas will be collated and shared with key stakeholders and the community in the coming months and will contribute to design concepts developed through early stakeholder and community engagement during the planning phase.

As part of the project, up to six level crossings will be removed including Mint Street, Oats Street, Welshpool Road, Hamilton Street and Wharf Street. Plans to also remove the William Street level crossing are underway, while the Federal Government finalises funding commitments.

Don’t miss this opportunity have your say and help shape the new public space in and around the elevated stations.
