New Midland Station midway to construction

  • 2 October 2020

A new Midland Station is another step closer with the Request for Proposal now underway.

Contractors are now invited to submit a proposal for the project, which includes decommissioning and demolishing the current Midland Station and building a new station between Helena and Cale streets. The project will be delivered through an alliance model.

Relocating Midland Station between Helena and Cale streets supports DevelopmentWA’s Midland Project, maintaining the railways central role to work and community life in the area. To maintain vehicle connections in the area, the level crossing at Helena Street will close and be replaced with a new crossing at Cale Street.

As part of the project the rail network will also be extended east to connect to the Bellevue Railcar Manufacturing and Assembly Facility, and to allow for future extensions of the Midland Line.

If you’re a local WA business interested in contributing to the New Midland Station project, register on our Construction Business Register and be on the list of potential local suppliers provided to the successful contractor when they’re appointed.

The alliance contract is expected to be awarded in mid-2021.
