The temporary closure of the Midland and Airport lines has been extended until 28 April to safely carry out essential and highly complex works on the new METRONET Bayswater Station.
Services will recommence on Saturday 29 April.
Methodically demolishing the 130-year-old station, bridge and rail line, working safely in a highly constrained site and re-sequencing works to minimise noise and vibration impact on the community has required these additional days.
The shutdown is necessary to safely carry out round-the-clock works on the new station, including removing the old Bayswater Bridge and station, realigning the Midland Line and works to facilitate the connection of the new METRONET Morley-Ellenbrook Line.
Testing and commissioning of the new rail line and bridge will take place next week to enable services to recommence on Saturday 29 April.
