Bayswater Station Upgrade tracking forward

  • 31 October 2019

In preparation for major works to start on the Bayswater Station Upgrade, local Welshpool company, Westforce Construction, have been awarded the $1.6 million contract to design and build two new car parks at Meltham and Ashfield stations.

Meltham Station will receive approximately 120 additional parking bays and Ashfield Station approximately 80 new bays. Both car parks will include lighting, CCTV and ease of access to the stations.

Bayswater Station is set to become a key station that will connect the Midland Line, Forrestfield-Airport Link and Morley-Ellenbrook Line. The additional car park bays will replace the 180-passenger bays along Whatley Crescent that will permanently close as part of the Bayswater Station upgrade.

The car parks are expected to be open for use in early 2020.
