Plan ahead for upcoming major train disruptions

  • 10 December 2020

To build vital infrastructure for METRONET projects major disruptions on the Armadale and Fremantle Lines are planned for early 2021.

Claremont Station Project - Fremantle Line Disruptions

To build the new turnbacks at Claremont Station, two months of intensive construction activity will take place from 5 February until 5 April 2021. The disruptions will include:

  • Claremont Station will close to the public and no train services will stop there, however, bus services will continue to operate to/from the station.
  • Fremantle Line services between Showgrounds and Fremantle will operate on a 30-minute frequency.
  • Several full line weekend closures

These disruptions allow essential works to take place 24/7 to upgrade Claremont Station and install turnback infrastructure and new overhead lines. Once complete this will enable an increase in the frequency of Fremantle Line services from Claremont to the CBD during peak times, greater resilience during unplanned service disruptions, and will also allow direct access to the new Airport Line from Claremont Station.

More information on will be made available on the Transperth website in January.

Denny Avenue Level Crossing Removal Project - Armadale Line Disruptions

To build the new Davis Road underpass, which replaces the Denny Avenue level crossing, 11 days of intensive construction activity will take place in the first half of 2021 and include major disruptions to the Armadale Line.

Other impacts include out of hours works and traffic management during these works.

More information on will be made available on the Transperth website in March.

Passengers who may be impacted by these disruptions are urged to visit the Transperth website, sign up for My Alerts, download the Transperth app or call the Transperth InfoLine on 13 62 13 for more information.

We also encourage those living and working in the area to sign up for project updates to find out about the other impacts associated with these works.
