Supporting the growth of well-connected communities

  • 2 September 2022

Expressions of Interest (EOI) are now open to developers and community housing providers to encourage vibrant and connected residential developments close to METRONET stations and major transport corridors.

It’s part of the State Government’s Housing Diversity Pipeline, which unlocks government land for release to market, to create a pipeline of housing developments to meet future housing demands, while contributing to liveable, inclusive and connected communities.

Many of the metropolitan sites being released to market are close to existing transport corridors and METRONET projects.

One of two development opportunities in Kelmscott, is just a short walk from the Kelmscott Station plaza, which has been recently revitalised at part of the METRONET Denny Avenue Level Crossing Removal project, with new public art celebrating the unique characteristics of the area.

Sites in East Perth and Redcliffe will also benefit from being close to existing stations, including the new METRONET Redcliffe Station along the Airport Line.

A development site in Cannington will be nearby to Perth’s first major elevated rail, as part of the Victoria Park-Canning Level Crossing Removal Project, where up to six busy level crossings will be gone for good, which will unlock up to to six hectares of new and versatile public space underneath the rail for community use.
