In July a significant milestone was achieved when 100,000 hours of team hours worked on the New Bayswater Station Project was reached.

The time reflects work completed on and off site by employees and contractors, and represents the scale of work since preparatory construction began in November 2020.

Project Manager Jonathan said the milestone is an outstanding achievement, especially as it also represents work completed without any time lost to injury.

“Our team should be extremely proud of what they have achieved, and I’d like to acknowledge the efforts of everyone involved on the project,” he said.

The 100,000 hours includes a substantial list of accomplishments including:

• completing road closure and night works 14 hours ahead of schedule;
• drilling 189 of 218 concrete piles up to 21 metres deep for bridge foundations;
• first concrete pour for the station’s columns; and
• partnering with the City of Bayswater to stockpile 5000 cubic meters of non-hazardous soil from the construction site at a laydown yard.
