Railcar procurement schedule released by supplier

  • 25 June 2020

Calling local WA companies interested in seeing their parts in the future C-Series railcar or helping support the METRONET Railcar Program. Alstom has released a list of work, products and services they will be seeking and have provided estimated dates for tender release.

The Railcar Program has been identified as a Strategic Project under the WA Jobs Act 2017, which has additional requirements for local job creation.  Alstom has confirmed it will reach the 50 per cent local content target for the manufacturing of the new trains, bolstering our local manufacturing industry and maximising WA jobs.

Manufacturing of the trains will take place in WA at the Bellevue Railcar Manufacturing and Assembly Facility. Construction has already commenced. Railcar manufacturing will begin in 2021, with the trains delivered from 2022 to 2029.

Suppliers are encouraged to complete the Expression of Interest on the ICN Gateway project page.

Local construction and related companies are encouraged to register their services on the METRONET business register. This register is provided to successful tenderers after contract award.
