Three peas in a pod! And that can be said for the three C-series trains now operating on Perth’s rail network.

The third C-series joined passenger services on Sunday, 14 July at the opening of the Yanchep Line.
 
Thousands of hours of behind-the-scenes work goes into producing these new trains with a rigorous build and testing process ensuring they are ready to take passengers. This includes:

• moving through stations for fitting and installation of components
• static and diagnostic testing
• high-voltage and dynamic testing.

More than 15 WA businesses are working with railcar manufacturer, Alstom to provide components for the railcars, which are the first to be manufactured and built in WA in more than 30 years.
 
With three down and 38 to go, the C-series trains will help move more than 103,000 people daily along the Mandurah and Yanchep lines as safely, efficiently, and as smoothly as possible.
