Two Community Reference Groups (CRGs) have been established to help inform the concept design for up to six level crossing removals as part of the Inner Armadale Level Crossing Removal project.
Removing the level crossings at Mint Street, Oats Street, Welshpool Road, Hamilton Street, Wharf Street and William Street will improve safety, create more connections, ease movements in the area, revitalise the corridor, modernise stations and create versatile public spaces for the community.
The ‘North’ group will cover Oats Street, Mint Street and Welshpool Road and the ‘South’ group will cover Wharf, Hamilton and William Streets. The CRGs will represent the interests and views of the community and will help the project team identify local opportunities, issues and concerns and share project information with the wider community
Nearly 100 people applied to be a part of the CRGs with 20 being chosen – 10 for each group – that represented a broad cross-section of the community including residents, business owners and community group representatives.
The North CRG members are:
Philippe Cloatre, Celene Bridge, Toby Hawes, Heather Johnstone, Elizabeth Kane, Sjaan Ketting, Michael Mulholland, Michelle Olaithe, Dino Ronchi and Lynne Wajon.
The South CRG members are:
Ryan Baker, Annette Bryant, Ashlee Campbell, Scott Caporn, Simon Harvey, Penny Haynes, Zel Iscel, James McElvaney, Francis Smith and Carolyn Wall.
Meetings will start in early September and minutes will be published on the Inner Armadale Line Level Crossing Removals project page.
