InfraBuild is just one of many local suppliers working on METRONET projects, supplying steel reinforcement to the Thornlie-Cockburn Link and Yanchep Rail Extension projects.
InfraBuild, a GFG Alliance member, is an Australian company with a local facility at Forrestfield. It’s here that steel will be fabricated into reinforcing cages used for piling.
With 8,500 tonnes of steel required for the contract, InfraBuild has made use of its expansive steel distribution network to ensure Australian-produced steel travels from Electric Arc Furnaces in Sydney, NSW and Laverton, VIC to the Forrestfield site in Western Australia, where it is processed and turned into piling cages.
The contract has meant a second shift of specialised employees have been added to meet demand with an additional 13 new team members trained.
In addition to the increased capacity, the large geographic spread of the METRONET contract has allowed InfraBuild’s skilled scheduling team to flex their muscles to meet the complexity of delivering piling cages to multiple sites and teams across the Perth metro area.
