With the WA Planning Commission recently approving the Development Application, the path ahead for major works starting next month on Lakelands Station is clear.

In the coming months the focus will be on drainage, platform walls and fencing around the site. The team will also work on installing in-ground services and earth works for the future station building, bus interchange and carpark.

The majority of above-mentioned works will occur around the rail line and needs to take place before the construction of main station structure can begin in 2022.

From early 2022, the station building will start to take shape as retaining wall panels and the concourse structure are built. The concourse and lift shafts’ steel frame will also be installed.
