METRONET attends Railfest 2018

  • 22 October 2018

Though Railfest tends to look back at the past, this year’s event also took a peek at the future with the METRONET stand a hit with attendees.

On Sunday October 7, more than 1400 people turned out for the annual event, which provided a great opportunity to get up-close and personal with the large range of historic trains on show, whilst enjoying some of the woodturning and blacksmithing demonstrations.

The METRONET stand was a popular attraction this year with hundreds of people keen to find out more about the current projects including the Thornlie-Cockburn Link, Yanchep Rail Extension, Forrestfield-Airport Link and the Railcar Program.

If you didn’t get to attend this year, the Bassendean Railway Museum is open every Sunday from 1pm-5pm and Wednesday 1pm-4pm.
