NEXT STOP… YANCHEP! 

Join our Community Fair on Sunday, 14 July 2024 to celebrate the new Yanchep Line and its three new stations at Alkimos, Eglinton and Yanchep.

This free, fun-filled family event will run from 10am to 3pm at Yanchep Station with a wide range of activities, live entertainment, great food and giveaways!

Come and enjoy:

  • A first look at all three stations, the amazing public art pieces and facilities
  • FREE activities for the kids, including face painting
  • FREE sausage sizzle, doughnuts, fairy floss and METRONET showbags
  • Welcome to Country
  • Coffee van and a variety of food trucks (cash or EFTPOS)
  • METRONET zone with activities and giveaways
  • Community market stalls (cash or EFTPOS) 

The METRONET Yanchep Rail Extension Project has delivered 14.5 kilometres of new rail from Butler, north to Yanchep – helping support ongoing growth in the area, reduce traffic congestion and create around 1,370 jobs. Click here for more project info.

WIN! First train ride to Yanchep Station!

To celebrate the occasion, we are giving away 200 double passes to ride the first train to Yanchep Station. Winners will depart Alkimos Station, make a stop at Eglinton Station, then onto Yanchep Station for the community fair. This is a train ride you don't want to miss! Be quick… enter now for your chance to WIN!


 


How to get to the community fair at Yanchep:

There’s no better time to use public transport. Trains will run every 15 minutes from Perth to Yanchep from 9:53am, and Yanchep to Perth from 10:30am.

Every Sunday, travel is free for all SmartRider holders. You will need to tag on and off with your SmartRider but you will not be charged a fare, no matter how far you travel. Free travel is available on all Transperth bus, train and ferry trips from first service until last service.

If you live nearby, embrace eco-friendly travel and walk, cycle or scoot to the event.

Planning to drive? 900 car bays are available at Yanchep Station. If you're planning on catching the train to Yanchep from one of the other new stations, there are over 700 bays at Alkimos Station and 400 bays at Eglinton Station. 

Please note: the car parks at Alkimos and Eglinton stations will not be open to the public until 10am.

Alkimos 

To acces Alkimos Station, there is a new road called Waadiny Parkway which will lead to the station car park.

Eglinton 

To access Eglinton Station, the existing Pipidinny Road will lead to the station car park.

Yanchep 

To access Yanchep Station, the two new roads Botanical Boulevard and Wellness Place will lead to the station car park.
