Preferred proponent announced for Mandurah Station Multi-Storey Car Park

  • 8 May 2020

Another Perth-based company is helping deliver a METRONET project, with PS Structures selected as the preferred proponent for the Mandurah Station multi-storey car park.

Set to begin construction in the coming months, the new ground plus two-level structure will increase parking at the station by around 700 bays to 1800 bays in total.

Once the contract is awarded, PS Structures will progress the car park design from concept to detailed design, with work expected to begin on site mid-year.

The first stage of works will establish a temporary Transperth car park near the station, to offset some of the parking bays which will be closed while the new car park is built. Passengers will also be encouraged to find alternative means of accessing the station where possible during construction.

More than 70 per cent of Mandurah Station passengers currently travel to the station by car, with the existing car park reaching 90 per cent capacity by around 9am on weekdays.

The joint Commonwealth and State funded project is expected to be complete by mid-2021.
