It’s no secret construction can be noisy at times, but you can be rest assured we’re committed to keeping the volume under control while building the new rail.
The METRONET Yanchep Rail Extension team use sound level meters tuned to Australian standards to provide an independent measure of noise levels. This helps ensure all construction activities adhere to WA Noise Regulations.
“Undertaking sound level monitoring allows us to establish if predicted noise emissions are being met, if noise mitigation measures are effective, or if further processes are required,” Senior Environmental Advisor Russell Beazley explained.
Jared Nagy, Environmental Advisor, describes a typical day on the job, “When we are required to monitor sound levels, I’ll head out to site, set up the monitor and take a series of readings while work is underway. This is done at various points within the site to ensure our sound levels are within the noise regulations.”
