The Thornlie-Cockburn Link noise wall colour has been chosen with a vote by landowners who live across from, or share a boundary fence with, the rail alignment in Kenwick and Thornlie, and Community Reference Group members.
As part of the Thornlie-Cockburn Link, almost 8 kilometres of noise wall will be installed to reduce the impact of rail noise for residents.
*Drum roll*
…and the winner is ‘Kalgoorlie’!
The 'Kalgoorlie' colour, with its rich earthy tones and connection to the colour schemes of the new stations, was selected by a clear majority to be used for the noise wall along the rail corridor in Kenwick and Thornlie.
Timing for the construction of the noise wall is yet to be confirmed, but you can subscribe to METRONET’s email list to receive regular updates.
