  • 7 October 2021

We’re pleased to announce the members of two new Community Reference Groups for the construction phase of Victoria Park-Canning Level Crossing Removal Project.

The new Oats Street Works Package members are:

  • Josh Clarke
  • Nat Tingey
  • Sjaan Ketting (Harold Hawthorne Seniors Centre)
  • Dino Ronchi
  • Caroline Mellish
  • Steven Rule
  • Tony Zhao
  • Toby Hawes
  • Kate Jeffries

This group will cover Oats Street, Mint Street and Welshpool Road.

The new Wharf Street Works Package members are:

  • Nicolas Ceravolo
  • Annette Bryant
  • Francis Smit
  • Penny Haynes (Cannington Community College)
  • Simon Harvey (St Norbert College)
  • Carolyn Wall
  • Peta Lockhart

This group will cover Wharf and Hamilton streets.

We received a high volume of nominations, and group members were carefully selected to ensure a cross-section of the community in terms of demographics, geography and interests, based on criteria in the Terms of Reference.

Nicolas Ceravolo was raised in East Cannington, spending majority of his life studying, volunteering, and working in the City of Canning.

“My key interest is to contribute to making culturally and physically safe areas with a strong sense of community for everyone in the community to access and enjoy. I hope to see spaces that will also promote and provide new opportunities for social capital to flourish in the surrounding areas by making it an inviting area for local business owners,” he said.

Thank you to everyone who nominated to participate in the groups.

The first meeting is scheduled for later this year and minutes will be published on the Victoria Park-Canning Level Crossing Removal Project project page.
