After thorough evaluation, the preferred Alliance to design and construct the new Bayswater Station has been chosen.
The Evolve Bayswater Alliance – Coleman Rail, has been named the preferred proponent to build the new station.
Bayswater Station is set to become a vital transport hub, linking the Midland Line to the Forrestfield-Airport Link and Morley-Ellenbrook Line. The new station will better integrate with the Bayswater town centre through new public spaces and more pedestrian-friendly streets.
Early works have already begun on the project, including January’s move of Bayswater’s iconic Kurrajong tree to Bert Wright Park. Work is also underway to increase parking at Ashfield and Meltham stations, ahead of the Bayswater Station parking at Whatley Crescent closing later this year.
The Alliance will work closely with the Public Transport Authority to progress the detailed design and construction schedule for the new station once the contract is signed.
The project is expected to support hundreds of local jobs during construction.
