The METRONET Thornlie-Cockburn Link Project is helping boost the Aboriginal business sector and training opportunities for young Indigenous people through a contract with fuel delivery service provider, KEE Bundu.

A partnership between KEE Group and Bundu Contracting, KEE Bundu delivers fuel to the project site six nights a week using around 60 pieces of equipment to refuel trucks, fuel tanks, lighting towers and cranes…but that’s not all this partnership is delivering.  

Working on the Thornlie-Cockburn Link Project has enabled the business to invest in employment, training and safety, and purchasing a new fuel truck to ensure safer transport of hazardous materials as well as aiding in driver training to tackle the shortage of qualified truck drivers. 

Through these meaningful opportunities, KEE Bundu aligns with the METRONET Gnarla Biddi Aboriginal Engagement Strategy, which is committed to increasing Aboriginal participation across all METRONET projects.

KEE Bundu is one of many registered Aboriginal businesses working on the Thornlie-Cockburn Link Project. To date, METRONET has recorded around 456,000 Aboriginal participation hours across its program of works.
