Safety Professional of the Year! Now that’s a title anyone would be proud of and we’re proud to say it belongs to Courtland Williams, CPB Contractors Health and Safety Manager on the METRONET Thornlie-Cockburn Link.

Courtland was recently recognised at the Civil Construction Federation’s Industry and Training Awards for his leadership in cultivating a strong safety culture on the project - not only improving his team’s understanding of safety but also enhancing the quality of the safety conversations taking place on site each day.

Courtland’s proactive approach to setting goals has also fostered a culture of accountability within his team.

“It has been great to see my team’s growth over the course of the project and their shared understanding develop as time goes on,” he said.

“I believe that honest leadership and continuous feedback is key to success, and hope this is instilled in my team members.”
