New Midland Station Community Reference Group announced

  • 18 June 2021

A Community Reference Group (CRG) for the new Midland Station has recently been established.

Eight members from an impressive 46 nominations who participated in a four week public expression of interest have been selected.

The new Midland Station CRG members are:

  • Bronwyn Benporath
  • Giles Creelman (Swan Christian Education Association)
  • Amanda Dow (Midland PCYC)
  • Sarah Howlett (Midland Junction Collective)
  • Laura Ashley Leyland
  • Dr Brian Steels
  • Daniel Stefanelli (Swan Chamber of Commerce/Centrepoint Shopping Centre)
  • Mark Waite (Youth Futures WA)

The group was carefully selected to ensure a broad and diverse cross-section of the community was represented in terms of demographics, geography and interests and opinions, based on criteria in the Terms of Reference.

Midland Junction Collective’s Sarah Howlett who has been a resident of Midland for 25 years is one member who carries the community and the area that she lives in close to her heart.

“I am always seeking opportunities to contribute to my local community and the CRG is a unique opportunity to participate in a positive way for this important and exciting project”, she said.

Thank you to everyone who nominated to represent their community.

The first meeting has been scheduled for July and minutes will be published on the new Midland Station project page.
