Denny Avenue Level Crossing removal plans revealed

  • 13 June 2018

The confirmed solution for the Denny Avenue Level Crossing removal will be a road underpass and elevated rail at Davis Road in Kelmscott.

Removing the level crossing at one of Perth’s most dangerous crossings will increase safety for drivers, pedestrians and cyclists and remove risk for our rail operations.

Transport Minister Rita Saffioti said: “Removing the Denny Avenue level crossing and relocating the east-west connection to Davis Road will improve connections in the town centre and mark the start of a revitalisation program around Kelmscott Station.”

The new solution at Davis Road will require the rail to be elevated slightly to accommodate the road underpass. A principal-shared path will be along Railway Parade for pedestrians and cyclists.

The project is also an opportunity to revitalise and redevelop the Kelmscott Town Centre.

Tenders for construction will be released in the coming months and construction will commence soon after the contract is awarded.

For more information on the project, come and visit our community pop-up display at Kelmscott Plaza on Saturday, 30 June. Our team will be there all day to answer your questions about the Denny Avenue Level Crossing removal.
