Join us on Sunday 8 December for Hello Ellenbrook! - a free family-friendly event to mark the opening of the Ellenbrook Line and celebrate the diverse and rich mix of culture of Perth’s north-east corridor. From tasty food that represents the multicultural community, bustling stalls from local businesses and community groups, to live performances, there’s something for the whole family to enjoy.   

Hello Ellenbrook! is the only place where you can score a piece of history by participating in the Discovery Trail to collect station posters, collectible station cards and a special Ellenbrook Line card - all limited edition!

From 9.30am to 2pm, your *SmartRider is your ticket to tag on and discover Perth’s five new stations – Morley, Noranda, Ballajura, Whiteman Park and Ellenbrook - and be part of the big day. 

There will be activities and entertainment at every station along the line:

*Travel is free on Sunday for SmartRider holders.


Morley Station 

  • Meet the players from the East Perth Football Club 
  • Scouts WA obstacle course - challenge yourself! 
  • 500 FREE coffees on offer - get in quick! 
  • Face painting 
  • Meet the ‘Freedom Fairies’
  • Join the Discovery Trail and answer quick questions about food, station public art, sustainability and Noongar culture to enjoy a taste of Italian cuisine, grab your Morley station poster and card and collect your golden Ellenbrook Line card.

Noranda Station

  • Go-karts
  • Giant trampolines 
  • FREE ice cream 
  • Join the Discovery Trail and answer simple questions about food, station public art, sustainability and Noongar culture to enjoy a taste of Vietnamese cuisine, grab your Noranda station poster and card and collect your golden Ellenbrook Line card.

Ballajura Station 

  • Cuddly Animal Farm -  pet a farm animal in the petting pen 
  • Toddler and DNA obstacle courses - for ages 3 and over
  • FREE fairy floss
  • FREE sausage sizzle
  • Market and community stalls 
  • Face painting 
  • Join the Discovery Trail and answer simple questions about food, station public art, sustainability and Noongar culture to enjoy a taste of Middle Eastern cuisine, grab your Ballajura station poster and card and collect your golden Ellenbrook Line card.

Whiteman Park Station

  • Warrior obstacle course - for ages 3 and over 
  • Meet the mermaids

  • Scouts WA games and activities
  • Toddler and DNA obstacle courses -  for ages 3 and over 
  • Market and community stalls 
  • FREE monster slushies
  • FREE sausage sizzle
  • Join the Discovery Trail and answer simple questions about food, station public art, sustainability and Noongar culture to enjoy a taste of Indian cuisine, grab your Whiteman Park station poster and card and collect your golden Ellenbrook Line card.

Ellenbrook Station 

  • Community stage with live performances 
  • Tea cup ride

  • Meet and greet the ‘Animal Ark’ reptiles
  • Market and community stalls

How to get there 

Special Event trains will be running along the Ellenbrook Line for the duration of the event, with the first public train bound for Ellenbrook departing Bayswater Station at 9:58am and the first train from Ellenbrook departing at 10:13am.

Parking is available at all stations. 

Remember to stay sun smart and bring a hat and water bottle. There will be sunscreen available at METRONET tents at all stations.

The METRONET Morley-Ellenbrook Line Project has delivered 21 kilometres of new rail, giving people living and working in Perth's north-eastern suburbs more transport choice.
