Hello Ellenbrook! Join us at a free, family-friendly event on Sunday, 8 December that will bring the new Ellenbrook Line stations to life with food, art and entertainment.

It’s time to say hello and welcome the Ellenbrook Line to Perth’s rail network! The newly-named Ellenbrook Line will open with a community celebration on Sunday 8 December 2024. 

The new Ellenbrook Station, being built as part of the METRONET Morley-Ellenbrook Line Project, has achieved a 6 Star Green Star - Railway Stations v1.1 certification, making it the highest rated under this tool.

The METRONET Morley-Ellenbrook line has run its first test train. The 21-kilometer line will connect the north-eastern suburbs to train services, offering transport options to the Airport and broader Perth train network.

The METRONET Morley-Ellenbrook Line Project team have been recognised for their outstanding work on Aboriginal inclusion and participation, with project contractor Laing O’Rourke awarded the Indigenous Inclusion Award.

The Morley-Ellenbrook Line Project is focused on working more sustainably to reduce carbon impacts of materials by more than 15 per cent, improve resource efficiency and support a circular economy by using recycled materials. 

We’re ticking off major items on the project ‘to do list’ with all five stations now permanently connected to power. 100 per cent of the rail has also been laid and will be electrified in late-August. Learn more about the education campaign being rolled out here.

The METRONET Morley-Ellenbrook Line has reached some major milestones over the past months and is set to start servicing passengers later this year. 

Students testing PH levels, using field equipment, and building model aquifers and innovative robots to help future engineers – now that’s what we call hands-on learning!

Over 50 Noranda residents put on their art smocks in late January and became ‘artists for a day’, to bring a community touch to the Noranda pedestrian underpass, part of the METRONET Morley Ellenbrook Line Project.

The new Ellenbrook Station was unveiled earlier this week, making it the first of five to be completed as part of the METRONET Morley-Ellenbrook Line Project.

Rail delivery is in full swing along the rail line with 68 per cent of track completed. The majority of all rail track works across the Morley-Ellenbrook Line Project are scheduled for completion by mid-2024.

The Morley-Ellenbrook Line project team is celebrating some very significant milestones - not only completing 50 per cent of the project by September 2023, but also reaching several great
training outcomes.

Twelve local and Noongar artists will create 19 public art pieces across the five new stations on the METRONET Morley-Ellenbrook Line, making it the largest art collection commissioned on a METRONET project so far.
