Catch a glimpse of Midland’s new station with updated artist impressions and animation just released.
The project will replace Midland’s ageing 52-year-old station with a modern new facility between Helena and Cale streets. The station’s contemporary design will incorporate three platforms catering to six-car Transperth trains and Transwa’s regional services.
A key feature of the project will be integrating with the surrounding Midland town centre by enhancing connectivity across the railway. The design includes a new pedestrian overpass, making it easier for passengers to access Midland Gate Shopping Centre, the Midland Health Campus and the broader precinct.
As part of the project the Helena Street level crossing will be closed and replaced with a new crossing at Cale Street to allow efficient traffic movements to continue.
The project’s newly released Project Definition Plan provides further detail on the new station design and facilities. Passenger amenities will be improved with a new multi-storey car park featuring more than 600 bays and a 12-stand bus interchange.
An alliance contract is expected to be awarded in mid-2021.
The team will be popping up in Midland to answer your questions and provide the community more information on the projects. You can find us at the below locations
