The most significant milestone for the METRONET Morley-Ellenbook Line to date has been reached, with the first tracks laid.
Rail is being laid north of the future Whiteman Park Station through to the Gnangara Underpass and along Drumpellier Drive, including 1.5km of ballast and sleepers installed along the 21km rail alignment.
Significant progress has also been made at the five future stations that will form the Morley-Ellenbrook Line, between Bayswater and Ellenbrook.
The project is the most significant expansion of the Perth rail system since the Mandurah Line, with patronage expected to reach 18,000 boardings per day by 2031.
The Morley-Ellenbrook Line will give people living and working in Perth’s north-eastern suburbs easy access to train services, with a 30-minute ride to the CBD from Ellenbrook once complete.
