Proponents shortlisted for Morley-Ellenbrook Line

  • 24 April 2020

Awarding the contract to design and build the Morley-Ellenbrook Line is one step closer with two proponents shortlisted.

Ellenbrook Alliance (CPB Contractors and Downer EDI) and MELconnx Consortium (Laing O’Rourke Australia Construction) will now progress to the competitive bid phase, where they will show how they would deliver the project. The contract is set to be awarded at the end of this year.

This contract is the biggest of four for the project, with the New Bayswater Station project, enabling works for Main Roads’ Tonkin Gap project and forward works making up the other three packages.

Included in the contract is the design and construction of the railway and five new stations, which will be built at Morley, Noranda, Ballajura, Whiteman Park and Ellenbrook. A future station is also planned at Bennett Springs East as populations levels increase and development progresses in the area.

The Morley-Ellenbrook Line will connect Perth’s growing north-east suburbs through a new 21km rail line, and will create thousands of jobs during construction.
