The team has been recognised for excellence in planning for the METRONET Whiteman Park Station Precinct Concept Master Plan at a recent state awards ceremony.
The METRONET Concept Master Plan, prepared with the support of the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage, and Hatch RobertsDay, won the Planning Excellence - Strategic Planning Project award from the Planning Institute of Australia (WA) this month.
The award recognises an outstanding project which encompasses innovation and vision for strategic planning.
Through extensive stakeholder consultation and design processes, the plan creates a vision and ideas for development of the station precinct over the next 30 years, maximising the State Government investment in transport infrastructure.
The plan identifies opportunities for new urban development east of the station within Brabham, and new recreational and tourism opportunities west of the station within Whiteman Park, in-keeping with the Park’s values.
The station will offer the community new transport services and a public recreation link to Whiteman Park and the Swan Valley, two of Perth’s leading tourist destinations.
The future Whiteman Park Station is one of five new stations to be built along the METRONET Morley-Ellenbrook Line Project and will only be a 25-minute trip from the CBD.
