New sports pavilion for Ellenbrook Christian College

  • 18 December 2020

A train station won’t be the only new community facility coming to Ellenbrook, with Ellenbrook Christian College set to have a new sports pavilion thanks to a partnership with the State Government.

The State Government-funded sports and recreation pavilion will promote health and physical activity in the Ellenbrook community, and will be open for sporting clubs, community groups and events outside of school hours.

The 21km Morley-Ellenbrook Line  will include new stations in Ellenbrook, Whiteman Park, Ballajura, Noranda and Morley, before connecting with the Midland Line at Bayswater Station. Passengers will be able to travel from Ellenbrook to the Perth CBD in just 30 minutes . Following the transit corridor reserved in the 1990s, the rail line travels between Ellenbrook Christian College’s school buildings and oval.

The line will be built on a raised embankment with a pedestrian underpass, an exciting prospect for any budding trainspotters at the College, and ensuring safe access between the oval and the school buildings. It will be closed outside of school hours to prevent access into school grounds.

The new community pavilion will be built on the College’s oval, for use by the school and wider community outside of school hours.
