Feature surveys and geotechnical investigation work is being carried out in the broad project area of the future Morley-Ellenbrook Line.
This work forms part of the further investigation and detailed analysis of the options for the new line to determine exactly where it can go and where the stations can be built.
Once complete, the project team will have a better understanding of the physical features of the land within the project area, as well as the properties of the ground and soil. The studies will also confirm the exact location of any underground utility infrastructure such as water pipes, gas pipes and electricity cables.
This work will take place primarily within road reserves, transit corridors and public spaces from March to May 2019. Where private property is needed to be accessed, land owners will be contacted directly.
As part of the planning for the new line, the project team has reviewed more than 100 potential options looking at a range of possible modes and alignments. The team is now carefully assessing short-listed options and developing a Business Case that will recommend the best available option to the community and the State.
