The Bayswater Station Upgrade is progressing with two proponents shortlisted for the task of designing and building the Bayswater Station Upgrade.
Better Bayswater Alliance (Georgiou Group and Lendlease) and Evolve Bayswater Alliance (Coleman Rail and Decmil) will now progress to a competitive bid phase before the contract is awarded in the coming months.
During this competitive bid phase, each proponent will need to demonstrate its technical ability while minimising impacts to the local community and Midland Line operations.
Bayswater Station is a strategic location on Perth’s rail network. The Forrestfield-Airport Link, due for completion in 2021, will spur off the Midland Line at Bayswater Station as will the future Morley-Ellenbrook Line. Linking these connections into Bayswater Station gives people the choice of travelling to the Airport, Swan Valley tourist region, the CBD and beyond.
Ahead of main works starting in Bayswater additional parking spaces will be added at Meltham and Ashfield stations to compensate for a reduction in parking at Bayswater Station. Service relocations are scheduled to start later this year and work is underway to relocate the iconic Kurrajong Tree.
